LO4: Generating audience feedback

When gathering audience feedback we created a survey on Survey Monkey, we used Survey Monkey because it is an easy to use platform where the questions can be edited to what is appropriate about what you're asking. Once we gathered the feedback we then began to act upon what was said about our product. This feedback will then give the film what it needs in order of it to be of professional standard. The questions we asked the audience link to things such as plot, editing and what they would change about the film.

After looking through the feedback given to us we know can see where we need to improve and what could be added. For example one of the questions we asked was, what did you think about the film, when reading the feedback we could see that the film didn't make sense plot wise and that it was confusing to follow. They way we will act upon on this is by adding scenes in that add to the plot and by taking scenes out that don't fit in with plot such as the establishing shot near the fountains. A scene we could add to the film is of the protagonist looking up to the sky in sort of daydream about the girl he likes, this helps the audience understand that the scenes of him on dates with her are only his imagination and hopefully fill any plot holes in the film.

Furthermore, another change that the audience said needs to be fixed is the audio quality and that they couldn't hear what the main character was saying. We can approach this in two different ways either we can do either audio dubbing or in the edit we can turn up the volume of the audio in the editing software. Another thing we needed to improve is our choice in sound effects we use and the music because the comments we got on the audio editing and the audience said that we are changing the audio too quickly and it isn't linking in with the film. A way we could change is by adding in audio transitions at the start of the music or nearing the end, this will help the music fade out and give time for audiences to adjust to changes.

Looking through the feedback there are quite a lot of strengths amongst feedback, for example the editing was okay for the level we are working at and that even though we wanted the film to look professional our audience could tell that it was a student film which can be a weakness in some areas such as improving camera but it could also be a strength since it shows that we are still learning and that the film is still of a decent quality.
