LO4: Generating audience feedback

Image
When gathering audience feedback we created a survey on Survey Monkey, we used Survey Monkey because it is an easy to use platform where the questions can be edited to what is appropriate about what you're asking. Once we gathered the feedback we then began to act upon what was said about our product. This feedback will then give the film what it needs in order of it to be of professional standard. The questions we asked the audience link to things such as plot, editing and what they would change about the film.  After looking through the feedback given to us we know can see where we need to improve and what could be added. For example one of the questions we asked was, what did you think about the film, when reading the feedback we could see that the film didn't make sense plot wise and that it was confusing to follow. They way we will act upon on this is by adding scenes in that add to the plot and by taking scenes out that don't fit in with plot such as the ...

LO2: Analysis

This scene meets the generic conventions because it shows different angles on the scene and allows the audience to feel what the atmosphere is like in the location. This helps add to the generic conventions because in real short films I have studied it replicates the conventions of how certain camera shots and lighting can change the view of a shot and change the genre of it through the different camera angles and shot types. This footage shows the male being more dominant through being able to pot one off the pool balls. From there being a dryer lighting on the date scene it shows that there can be a comfortable and warm feeling towards the scene and shows how it could connote the genre of romance. Linking this scene to the repetition and difference it actually repeats what happens in a romance film due to the male being the confident and most dominant between the relationship.  This scene shows the generic conventions through it shows the makes reaction to the girl walking...

LO3: Apply audio editing and dubbing techniques

Image
First of all you need to select the full clip, once you do this a white box will appear around both (this means that the audio and clip you have chosen is linked). If you want to the unlink your audio and chose a different audio then you need to right click onto the clip.  After you have right clicked a drop down menu will appear, to unlink the audio you need to scroll down the menu then press onto unlink, I did this because I wanted to get rid of the background audio since there was roadworks happening and people shouting where we were filming. Furthermore, after you have unlinked the audio there shouldn't be a white box around both of the    clip and audio and there should just only be box around the clip.  Once you have unlinked the audio from the clip you then need to click on the audio you want to delete and then either right click and press cut or press the backspace button on your keyboard. This would then clear the audio from the ed...

LO3: Editing footage with special effects

Image
During the editing of the scene we have had to slice the footage into 3 separate sections to then be able to further add a slow motion shot in the scene to help add to the atmosphere of the short film. From doing this it means that the audience will be able to identify the genre of the short film and the storyline that is occurring.  To add special effects to the scene we have added the special effects of a slow motion shot of the guy looking at the girl, this adds a more intense and a 'romantic' feeling to the short film. This has been done because it adds to the classic scene of when the first cross over to be dramatic in other short films, this adds a classic touch to the short film and makes it seem more professional. We decided to slow the clip down by 50% to make the scene have a more dramatic and intense atmosphere to the scene. This scene needs to be more intense because it needs to create a dramatic feel to add to the storyline of the guy liking the girl and the girl n...

LO2: Setting up equipment

Image
This is an image of  me putting on the StediCam. To put the on the StediCam the user needs to put the SetdiCam vest over the camera persons body. Then you have to line up the buckles with the correct point so it wraps around the users body, this helps with the stability of the camera. A safety hazard we had to overcome was to make sure that if anyone was helping they don't get their fingers caught in the end of the buckle.   This image is of me attaching the camera mount to the StediCam. When attaching this part the user needs to be able to line up the poles to the holes which are attached to the vest, once they have done this than they need to attached the weighted camera mount to the arm. A safety hazard we had to deal was the arm of the mount was dense so we had to make sure it is held in place, so it isn't going to hit anyone while we set it up.    This image is shows Ben putting the camera on to the weighted mount for the StediCam. When setting this u...
